POSITION REQUIREMENTS: JOB KNOWLEDGE Bachelor's degree (Master’s preferred) with an emphasis in education required or a proven record of success. Three years teaching experience required; intermediate and/or middle school level, with a concentration in Mathematics and Science preferred. Experience in development and implementation of teacher training, mentoring and/or coaching programs. Experience using a variety of technology-based tools and resources, including Web 2.0. Demonstrated knowledge of web page design and management. Demonstrated knowledge of database management. Demonstrated knowledge in distance learning methodologies. Knowledge of the change process as it relates to educational innovation. Demonstrated writing ability and other communication skills. Demonstrated pedagogical and presentation skills. Demonstrated effective job-related skills that model effective integration of current and emerging technologies across the curriculum. Demonstrated competence with assisting others to effectively and meaningfully integrate technology into the curriculum. Proficiency with standard functions within electronic applications such as MS Office (e.g., word processing, electronic spreadsheets) and e-mail. Proficiency with computers (PCs and/or MACs) to include desktop management, file management and operations, and working in a network environment. Exception to these requirements will be considered based on exemplary skills, training and record of success. PRODUCTS/OUTCOMES Provide support, mentoring, coaching, modeling and consulting services to assist participating districts in implementing and assessing progress of the Target Tech in Texas (T3) grant. Incorporate new requirements, strategies and recommendations related to educational technology from the state and other outside agencies. Train classroom teachers and master teachers at participating campuses to effectively implement and sustain activities related to technology integration in Mathematics and Science (grades 5-8) within their school and district. Coordinate efforts at participating campuses to provide just-in-time, onsite and distance learning opportunities sessions in their own school or district. Provide in-service training and retraining for teachers in activity-oriented, hands-on opportunities that will improve the quality of teaching, the effective integration of technology into instruction and classroom management. Provide support, training and assistance for school leaders, supervising teachers, and trainers of teachers to include assistance in planning, implementing and assessing quality programs relating to instruction, instructional management and instructional leadership with technology which meet the goals of the T3 grant and their local district needs. Ensure satisfaction of Center and school clients and sensitivity to their concerns. Team with other Center staff within and outside the Division and with Texas Education Agency staff, as appropriate, to enhance program objectives and Center initiatives. Accept other responsibilities as assigned. Comply with the requirements of the ESC-20 Quality Management Systems (QMS) as detailed in the ESC-20 Quality Manual, Quality Procedures, and Work Instructions.
