JOB SUMMARY:  Provide regional leadership to districts in implementing quality instructional programs in the area of migrant education. Responsible for planning, organizing and conducting staff development and providing technical assistance related to the Migrant Education Program (MEP) for Region 20 school districts.  Function as a liaison for center efforts in the area of migrant education and will work with other staff to meet the goal of improving student achievement.

Detailed Description

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

 

JOB KNOWLEDGE

Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s degree preferred) or a proven record of success.

Three years of relevant experience.

Knowledge or experience in working with migrant and Bilingual/ESL students preferred.

Demonstrated interpersonal skills.

Experience in facilitating groups.

Experience in planning and conducting staff development sessions.

Knowledge of current professional research and literature.

Demonstrate effective job-related skills that model effective integration of technology.

Demonstrate competence with assisting others to appropriately integrate technology into the curriculum.

Proficiency with standard functions within electronic applications such as MS Office

(e.g., word processing, electronic spreadsheets) and e-mail.

Proficiency with computers (PCs and/or MACs) to include desktop management, file management and operations, and working in a network environment.

Exception to these requirements will be considered based on exemplary skills, training, and record of success.

 

PRODUCTS/OUTCOMES

Facilitate groups in a way that builds capacity in making effective decisions.

Title 1 and/or migrant educators.

Internal work groups.

School support, curriculum, instruction and assessment groups.

Groups of classroom teachers.

Assist campuses/districts by serving as a catalyst for appropriate and productive change that increases student achievement by providing training and technical assistance related to state and federal compliance and performance indicators.

Working with campus SBDM committees.

Coordinating activities in the Migrant Shared Service Agreement.

Serving as a migrant and resource to the Administrative & Instructional Services division.

Design, develop and deliver staff development for school improvement.

Serve as a liaison between clients and community resources and state and federal agencies.

Deliver high quality products/services in a timely manner.

Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness.

Coordinate with other appropriate program areas to ensure a positive impact on education for all students.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Travel independently as required to fulfill responsibilities of the job.

Function within the policies and procedures of ESC-20.

Accept other responsibilities as assigned.

Comply with the requirements of the ESC-20 Quality Management Systems (QMS) as detailed in the ESC-20 Quality Manual, Quality Procedures, and Work Instructions.

Serve at the will of the Executive Director.
